  4.                                  pioneer at his position -- 
  5.                                  a defenseman who played 
  6. offensively! Bobby was the first defenseman
  7. to score more than 40 goals in a season, 
  8. win a league scoring title, and score more 
  9. than 100 points. His efforts helped turn his
  10. team, the Boston Bruins, into champions.

  12. The Bruins recognized BobbyΓÇÖs talents 
  13. unusually early. They acquired the rights to 
  14. sign Bobby and placed him on their protected 
  15. list when he was only 12 years old! The 
  16. Bruins brought him into the NHL in 1966, 
  17. when he was 18. He won the Calder 
  18. Memorial Trophy (given to the best 
  19. rookie) in 1966-67.
